Introduction to 3D Modelling Journal

 I used the floor generator to make a floor and adjusted the shape and size of the floor. This is a Chinese plug-in. Later I will give this floor a texture.

 The next task is to make door and window, which is not easy. Draw a plane first, convert it to editable poly, select two edges, and connect two lines. Give this plane shell 20mm, select the face, insert 60mm, and extrude 20mm. Then draw two rectangulars, then use Bevel Profile. Then I got a Plaster pattern. Then use symmetry to make the two sides of the door the same. Samilar steps for the window. 

 With the initial idea, I first drew a simple plan in CAD. I'm going t build a lab with several equipments inside. I am an interior design student, so when it comes to making models, I instinctively thought of making a room. As shown in the picture, I want to put a table, some chairs, a blackboard and some experimental equipments in the room. Of course, as a room, doors and windows are essential. Then I imported the CAD file into 3d and extruded the entire outline to 2700mm, which is the height of most rooms.  After that, I squeezed out the door and window by 240 and deleted the face. 240 is the thickness of a general wall.

 I first made a set of test tubes and a test tube rack. The test tube rack is composed of side plates on the left and right sides and two plates with round holes in the middle. The board with holes is done using Boolean operations.

I have always been interested in chemistry experiments. Although my major is not chemistry, I studied A-level for three years in high school. My favorite is the experimental class. So I plan to do a simple chemistry laboratory in the second project. First, I googled some pictures of the laboratory and selected some of the common equipments from these pictures. My idea is: first build a simple laboratory, and then put a few experimental tables in the lab. Then place some equipments on the table.

When I imported it into Sketc Up, the legs of the table were gone, and the textures of the table were gone as well, so I deleted the table.😭

Google Earth is a magical software, it can take me to the place I choose from the perspective of the whole earth.
